THE WILL OF WILLIAM MANN JR.
In the name of God Amen.
I William Mann of the Township of Beverly in the County of Wentworth and
the Province of Ontario Yeoman being of sound mind and memory do make
and publish and declare this as and for my last Will and Testament hereby
revoking and making null and void all former last Wills and Testaments
by me heretofore made.
First - I give and bequeath to my daughter
Eliza Ann now the wife of
William Taylor and
now the wife of Andrew J Jones the sum of one hundred dollars each to
have and to hold the same to them
my said daughters their heirs and assigns forever.
Second - I give and bequeath to my son
Richard the sum of one hundred dollars
a year to be paid him out of my Estate by my Executors as hereinafter provided.
Third - I give and devise to my son
William my real Estate being
Composed of the North East quarter of
Lot number Thirty five in the Third concession of the said Township of
Beverly and containing Fifty acres
be the same more or less to have and to hold the same to him my said son
William his heirs and assigns forever.
Fourth - I give bequeath and devise to my Executors hereinafter named
all and singular the Goods Chattels and personal property of which I
shall die possessed or to which I shall be entitled at the time of my
of what nature so ever the same may be or wherever so make and also all
the rest and residue of my real Estate
of which I shall die seized and possessed of to which I shall be entitiled
at the time of my decease to have and to hold the same to them my said
Executors in ???? with the full power to sell and dispose of the same if
necessary and in such manner as they may think best. And I do hereby
order and require of my Executors to
dispose of my Estate as follows.
First - To pay off all my just debts and liabilities
Next - To pay the legacies herein before bequeathed to
Eliza Ann and Mary Delilah and to pay the balance to my said son Richard
and to be paid to him in half yearly payments of fifty dollars each
while the same lasts or until such balance is exhausted, provided
however that in the event of my said money
is paid to him then in such case I order that my Executors do dispose of
whatever sum be remaining as follows.
First - To pay to my granddaughter
Mary Jane Mann (daughter
Martin) the sum of one hundred dollars and the remainder if any to
my said daughters Eliza Ann and Mary Delilah share and share
alike to have and to hold the same to them my said granddaughter
and daughters their heirs Executors Administrators and assigns forever.
Fifth - I do hereby now make and appoint my friend Charles Patterson and
my son-in-law Andrew J Jones
to be the Executors of this my last will and testament.
In testimony whereof I the said William Mann have to
last Will and Testament contained
on three sheets of papers have subscribed my name and affixed my seal as
follows. To the first two sheets I have subscribed my name and to the
last sheet I have subscribed my name and affixed my seal this second day
of March A.D. Eighteen Hundred and Eighty One.
